Geisha, as the name suggests, is all about the Japanese Geishas. With this video slot you travel to the land of the rising sun, where you will encounter different parts of the design that have something to do with this, such as cherry trees, rose petals and also bamboo frames.
Endorphina has thought of everything when developing this video slot, making it an overall experience that you have to keep watching. You will therefore discover the beauty of Japan with Geishe, without actually having to travel there.
Geisha Review
Geisha begins at a layout with a black tiled roof where the reels are separated by bamboo frames. These are five in total with three rows of symbols. From here, 25 win lines are created where you can get prizes with winning combinations. Before you can win these prizes, you must first bet on the win lines.
This can be done with a coin value from 0.01 to 5 and is still adjustable during the game before you press Spin or Auto Spin. In total you can bet up to 300 coins at a time on all the indicated paylines. Add to that the 96 percent payout percentage and you’ll find that Geisha is an average video slot where you can have hours of fun.
Once the reels start to spin, a total of 12 different symbols appear, all of which have something to do with Japanese tradition. Of these, the low payout symbols are the sandals and coins. For three, four and five of the same, these symbols pay out 10, 20 and 100 coins respectively. The symbols that pay out slightly more are the Japanese ideograms for love, the Shamisen, the Teapot, The Fan and the Umbrella.
Geisha Gameplay
Theme and symbols
The Teapot and Shamis will give you 10, 30 and 150 coins respectively, the ideogram 10, 50 and 200. What you really want to go for from these symbols are the fan and the umbrella. After all, these will give you 30, 150 and 300 times your bet per payline respectively.
The most valuable standard symbols in Geisha are the three Geisha symbols. These are red, blue and yellow. The red and blue ones will give you a little less than the yellow ones, but with multiple winning combinations these symbols can give you nice amounts of money. If you have three or more of these symbols on an active payline, you win and the symbols come to life in the form of an animation. Basically, with a winning combination of three, four or five yellow Geishas you will receive 80, 250 and 800 coins respectively. With the blue and red ones this is 40, 200 and 600 coins per winning combination.
A Japanese theme cannot do without the Koi carp. Therefore, these are the Wild symbols in Geisha. They can replace all the base symbols on the playing field and thus also award a doubler to your winnings. Any combination completed with one or more carps can thus instantly be worth more money. A combination of three or more carps will earn you additional amounts. With three, four or five of the same kind you will receive 100, 500 or 100 coins respectively.
Bonus feature
Geisha only has one bonus feature and that is the Free Spin Bonus which you can activate by collecting three or more Scatters on the gaming field. When you activate it, the game automatically goes to Auto Play and on two of the five reels the standard symbols are replaced by a Geisha bonus icon. These icons multiply your prize by two, three or five times.
When you are playing the Free Spin Bonus, you can again spin Scatters. When you have three or more of the same Scatters again, you will get spins of Geisha again. Even though the game is set to Auto Play, you still need to stay alert to see what prizes you can get from this bonus round.
A video slot can also not do without a Scatter. In Geisha this consists of a temple under pink cherry blossoms. Three or more of these symbols will give you a winning combination and will also activate the 10 Free Spin Bonus. The winnings from a winning combination with Scatters can earn you large amounts of money. When you have three of the same symbols on the board you will receive 50 coins. Four of the same will give you 500 and five of the same will give you 5000 coins.
As a little extra, which can probably also be considered as a bonus feature, you can also play the Risk Game. Here you have the chance to win a multiplier of your profit after each winning combination. You can see in advance which card you will be playing with this round. If your starting card is a lower one, there is a good chance that you will win the round. This is because the card that the dealer turns over must be higher than the card you already had in front of you. If the card is lower than the one you already had, you automatically return to the basic game. You will then lose the amount won in the winning combination. So there are risks involved.
The final verdict
Endorphina made a good move with Geishe. The game looks excellent, with all the symbols adapting nicely to the theme. No unnecessary padding on the low payout symbols, but only images that fit the theme. Add to that the beautiful background and the overall picture is something to be proud of.
The Free Spin Bonus and the Risk Game give just that little extra that Geisha needs to be a good video slot. No difficult rules, and also an Auto Play for when you don’t want to click anymore. In addition, the payout percentage of 96 percent is a nice average, making the game manageable for both a novice and experienced player.
