In anticipation of the new legislation regarding Gambling, The Dutch Lottery has extended its partnership with Scientific Gaming. In February of this year, the Dutch Senate decided to approve the bill from Minister Dekker relating to the new Remote Gaming Act.
The extension of the partnership mainly relates to the provision of sports betting in the future for the Dutch Market. It is expected that in 2020 it will be known which companies can obtain a license. It is expected that The Dutch Lottery will be one of the parties. This explains the expansion of the partnership with Scientific Games.
Who are Scientific Games?
Scientific Games, also known as SG Interactive is one of the most well-known providers of social gambling. Scientific Games has been in business since 1974 with lotteries and basically everything that comes with an offline and online casino. Scientific Games currently operates more than 30 lotteries and sports betting sites in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia, and recently launched sports betting in Turkey, one of the world’s largest sports markets.
Collaboration between Dutch Lottery and SG
The expanded sports partnership will advance the sports offering with the launch of OpenSports, Dutch Lottery’s end-to-end sports betting solution. OpenSports will be accessible to Dutch bettors via mobile and desktop. Building on the establishment of the OpenSports technology platform, the Dutch Lottery will receive the trading services for non-Dutch sports managed by OpenTrade.
The Dutch Lottery is the largest gambling company in the Netherlands. Established in 2016 through the merger of De Lotto and the Dutch State Lottery under the supervision of the Dutch Ministry of Finance. It is therefore expected that the cooperation with SC will only make the company bigger.
