Tip 1. Learn the basic rules

To begin with, you need to learn the basic rules of blackjack. The goal of blackjack is to beat the dealer. Get a value closer to twenty-one and you win . To achieve this you have the following options: Stand & Hit. With specific cards, the following options are available: Split, Double & Collateral.

• • Hit

A hit means taking an extra card. Not sure yet? Take a card and try to get a better score than the dealer.

• • Stand

You are satisfied with your cards or you don’t dare take any more risks if you choose to stand.

• • Split

If you have two similar cards, you can split them. Place a bet equal to the original bet and play with two individual hands. Now you can decide where you want to receive an additional card. In some blackjack variants it is possible to split up to 3 times. With Aces, this is not always possible.

• • Doubling

Doubling the bet in blackjack is possible after you receive a specific point value. Get a value of 9, 10 or 11 and double the bet. Some blackjack variants allow you to double the bet at any point total.

• • Insure

If a dealer has an Ace exposed, you can choose to insure your hand. You take back half of your original bet and if the dealer turns out to have a ‘Natural Blackjack’ (value of twenty-one with the first two cards) then you receive a 2:1 payout.

Tip 2. Learn correct basic strategy and use blackjack tips

A correct basic strategy means that you make the right decision at any given moment. This strategy helps you to reduce the house edge.

There are plenty of tables on the Internet that show exactly what choice you should make in any situation. Master the basic strategy first before you start playing blackjack with real money.

Tip 3. Manage your money well

Tip 7. Do not take out insurance

Under no circumstances take insurance at blackjack. No matter how much money you have bet or what your hand is, taking insurance is always a bad choice. Only 4 out of 13 possible cards will give the dealer a “Natural blackjack. That’s a 30.8% chance of getting a blackjack.

If you only get a 2:1 payout for an insurance bet, that’s a losing bet. Insurance is only possible if you are an experienced blackjack player and apply the ‘card counting’ strategy. and you know when it is a good option to take insurance in some situations.

Tip 8. Do not apply the Martingale betting system

Never use the Martingale system in blackjack which requires you to double your bet after losing a hand. Believe it or not, it is possible to lose a large number of hands in a row at any time. Martingale is a progressive betting system that has the disadvantage that at some point you reach the maximum limit of a game and can no longer double your bet. If this happens, the system fails and you are tens, hundreds, if not thousands of dollars lighter.

In the case of blackjack with 6 or 8 decks, the surrender rule is a good outcome. For a ‘Natural Blackjack’ there should be a 2:1 payout.

Tip 11. Playing blackjack with fewer decks is better

The house edge is lower with fewer decks. Playing blackjack with fewer decks only makes sense if the rules of the game remain the same. For example, does a game with 6 decks have the same rules as a game with 8 decks? Then it’s best to play blackjack with 6 decks.

Tip 12. Never play blackjack with 6:5 payouts

Never play a blackjack variant that pays 6:5 for a ‘Natural Blackjack’. Stick to variants that pay out 2 to 1 for a value of twenty-one with your first two cards. A game with 8 decks and 2:1 payouts is better than a game with 1 deck and 6:5 payouts, that says it all.

Tip 13. Never split two tens

It is not recommended to split two tens. Two tens already has a point total of twenty. There is only one hand that is better, which is twenty-one. The chances of adding an Ace are nil. Two tens is good enough in most cases to beat the dealer at the casino. If you get two tens or cards worth ten (wife, king, jack), pass immediately.

Tip 14. Always split two aces and eights

There are many cards worth ten in a deck of 52 playing cards. Each image such as a jack, queen, and king are worth ten, and the card with the ten shown on it retains its own face value. Because there is a good chance that either you or the dealer will get a ten, splitting Aces is always the right choice. Any ten is good with an Ace, as this makes twenty-one, the best possible hand in blackjack.

Splitting two eights is purely due to the fact that a value of 16 is the worst possible hand in blackjack. The fact that if the dealer hits 16, he will still have to draw a card, means that they will often go over 16 and beat you. So always split two eights and have the possibility of getting an Ace or ten for a better value, namely 18 or 19.

Tip 15. On 11 points or lower never pass

At 11 points or lower, you should never pass in blackjack. Any card can improve your situation. You also can’t buy yourself to death (crossing the twenty-one mark). Take a card at all times should you have 11 points or less and try to improve your hand to beat the house (dealer).

Tip 16. Make sure you’re not the last to act

When you take a seat at a blackjack table, it’s best to make sure that you’re not the last one to act before the dealer receives his cards.
